Exosomes Aftercare.
Thank-you for visiting the clinic today. Please read this information carefully and contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns.
This aftercare advice is essential to help reduce the risk of treatment complications, improve your comfort and healing, and help achieve the best possible results from treatment.
Aftercare Instructions
After the procedure, allow the exosomes to dry on your skin without washing it off or applying anything to your skin for 6 hours. After that you may wash your face. You may apply moisturiser and makeup after 24 hours. This is to minimise the risk of infection from contaminated products. Avoid any other facial treatments for 72 hours.
Avoid touching the treated area for 4-6 hours post-treatment.
Don't wash the face for at least 6 hours.
Use gentle, fragrance-free cleanser when washing.
Apply recommended serums or moisturisers.
Avoid makeup for 24 hours.
Stay out of direct sunlight and use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ when outside.
Don't use harsh skincare products (retinoids, acids) for 3-5 days.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours.
Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet.
Avoid excessive heat (saunas, hot showers) for 48 hours.
When can I expect to see results?
You will start to see visible skin results 48hours post treatment. Visible results have been recorded 4-6 weeks after treatment and outcomes vary from person to person.
Downtime:
Up to 24hrs, some redness immediately after and minor swelling may occur due to the micro needling. Infection is a potential risk and you need to be aware of the signs and symptoms so you can contact your healthcare provider immediately:
Signs of infection can vary but may include:
Increased pain or tenderness: While some discomfort is normal after the procedure, persistent or worsening pain at the injection site could be a sign of infection.
Swelling: Swelling is common after treatment but if it worsens or becomes increasingly localised, it could indicate an infection.
Redness: Mild redness at the site is normal, but if it spreads beyond the immediate area or becomes more intense, it may indicate an infection.
Heat or warmth: The skin around the injection site may feel warmer than usual, which can be a sign of inflammation or infection.
Pus or discharge: Any discharge or drainage from the injection site, particularly if it is thick, yellow, or green, may indicate an infection.
Fever: A fever is a common sign of infection. If you develop a fever after treatment, especially if accompanied by other symptoms, it's essential to seek medical attention promptly.
Increased swelling or red streaks: If you notice significant increases in swelling or red streaks extending from the injection site, it could indicate an infection spreading through the lymphatic system.
Delayed onset of symptoms: While it's normal to experience some swelling and redness immediately after treatment, if these symptoms worsen or appear several days after the procedure, it could indicate an infection.
If you experience any of these symptoms after treatment, it's crucial to contact your healthcare provider promptly. Infections can be serious and may require medical treatment, including antibiotics or drainage of any abscesses. Early recognition and treatment of an infection can help prevent complications and promote optimal healing.
You must seek emergency medical attention if you experience any severe allergy symptoms after treatment. Symptoms may include rash, facial swelling, and breathing difficulties.
Contact your practitioner as soon as possible if you notice any other unwanted side effects. Your practitioner will advise when further treatment appointments are required.
If you are advised to attend a follow-up appointment, please make every effort to attend them. You should do this even if you believe that the recovery process is going well, and you cannot see that there are any visible complications.
Number of treatments required: We suggest up to 5 treatments for best results.
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, please contact your treating doctor and clinic immediately.
