LED Light Treatment Aftercare.

Thank you for trusting us with your care. To ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of complications following your Lenisna treatment, please follow the aftercare instructions provided below. Proper care will aid in a smooth recovery and enhance the overall effectiveness of the treatment.

1. Immediate Post-Treatment Care

  • Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area for the first 24 hours.

  • Cooling: If swelling or redness occurs, apply a cold compress for 10-15 minute intervals. Avoid direct contact of ice with the skin; use a cloth or gauze as a barrier.

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water to support the healing process and promote skin hydration.

2. Skin Care Regimen

  • Cleansing: Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Avoid harsh exfoliants or scrubbing for the first 7-10 days.

  • Moisturisation: Apply a fragrance-free, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing. Use as directed by your practitioner.

  • Sun Protection: For the next 2-4 weeks, protect the treated area from direct sun exposure. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher) and reapply as necessary.

3. Activity Restrictions

  • Avoid Excessive Heat: Refrain from hot showers, saunas, or intense physical exercise for at least 48 hours post-treatment, as heat may exacerbate swelling or irritation.

  • Sleep Position: Sleep on your back with your head elevated (preferably on two pillows) for the first 2-3 nights to reduce swelling in the treated area.

4. Medication and Topicals

  • Pain Management: If you experience mild discomfort, you may take over-the-counter pain relievers (such as paracetamol) as directed. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin) unless otherwise advised by your provider.

  • Topical Applications: If any prescribed topical creams or ointments were given, use them as directed. Do not apply other products or makeup until advised.

5. Possible Side Effects

It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness in the treated area, which should subside within a few days. If you notice any of the following, please contact our office:

  • Persistent swelling or severe pain

  • Unusual redness, warmth, or signs of infection (e.g., pus)

  • Unexplained changes in skin appearance (e.g., skin discolouration, bruising, pain, scabbing, blistering)

6. Follow-Up

Please schedule a follow-up appointment with the clinic 2-3 weeks after your treatment to assess your results and address any concerns. Please ensure you have booked your consecutive treatments as part of the treatment schedule.

Should you have any questions or experience any issues that require immediate attention, do not hesitate to contact the clinic.

If you are experiencing any adverse symptoms, please contact your treating doctor and clinic immediately.
